I’m on a mission.
I’m obsessed with it, actually. I’m working to create an inventory of 150 cutting boards, cheese boards and serving pieces so that when sales pick up, I won’t be constantly panicked with how I can keep up. Good plan.
The reality is I’m just now at 103 boards … and since today is the opening of Clovis’ Big Hat Days, it’s a sure bet that I won’t have 100 when the sun sets. That’s a good thing, right?
Cutting Board # 15 – 028. Cherry, Black Walnut, Hard Maple and Purpleheart end grain. 13″ x 19″ x 1-1/2″. The photo doesn’t do this board justice!
Cutting Board 15 – 025. Hard Maple, end grain, with a juice groove. 13″ x 18″ x 1″.
Cutting Board # 15 – 026. Honey Locust, Jatoba, Cherry and Curly Black Walnut. 13″ x 16″ x 1-1/4″.
Cutting Board # 15 – 024. Spectacular color and grain patterns make this a board a visual treat. Jarrah, Hard Maple and Cherry end grain. 13″ x 19″ x 1-1/2″.
I have received many compliments on my price tags, which identify the woods in each board. Some have told me my prices are reasonable; others have definitely communicated the prices are too high. Who should I believe?
Cutting Board # 15 – 023. Hard Maple, Cherry and Goncalo Alves, AKA Tigerwood. 12″ x 16″ x 1-1/2″.
Small Board # 15 – 031. Black Walnut, Cherry and Hard Maple. 9″ x 11″ x 1″.
Small Board # 15 – 032. Black Walnut end grain. 9″ x 11″ x 1″.
Cutting Board # 15 – 027. Commissioned piece. This is the “World Traveler” board with woods from 5 continents. Black Walnut, Hard Maple and Cherry, from North America. Yellowheart and Jatoba from South America. Teak from Asia. Padauk and Purpleheart from Africa. Jarrah from Australia. Edge grain. 13″ x 16″ x 1-1/4″.
Small Board # 15 – 033. Black Walnut, Cherry and Hard Maple end grain. 9″ x 11″ x 1″.
Cheese Board # 13 – 00. This is the board that started it all … the first cheese board I ever made, and gave to Velda for Christmas. Board has been resurfaced after 2 years of use, and the rubber feet have been replaced with the upgraded version I started using immediately after making the board. Goncalo Alves, Honey Locust, Jatoba, Black Walnut and Cherry edge grain. 10″ x 11″ x 1″.
A new display premieres today for my engraved boards. This is one of the examples I’ll be displaying.

This too shall pass! You should be in much better shape … and pain free! … on the other side. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery!
Beautiful boards! Many people will continue to enjoy their beauty and functionality for a long time. Let the sawdust fly … into the dust collection system, of course!
Thank you. We did have a good day … not our best day, but a good one!
We gifted your boards almost a month ago, and we are still hearing “Did you see…… ” and “It was so pretty…..” and also hearing “Thank you, thank you, thank you!!” These couldn’t have been a more perfect gift and it made me so proud to present them. Leah
Leah, thank you so much for the kind words. So happy to bring a little handmade goodness to the Happy Texan!
I’m sure your day was very successful! Everyone deserves to enjoy products from both Mr. and Mrs. M!!!
It was a good day. Nice people in Clovis. Too many t-shirts proclaiming the SF Giants as world champs, but I forgive all buyers for unfortunate wardrobe choices!
