“There’s just something about a winding road that ignites wanderlust,” says photographer Kathryn Dyer! At an impromptu stop in California’s Yosemite National Park, Kathryn captured this incredible shot of Half Dome shining golden from a beautiful alpenglow and framed by trees. When you visit public lands, you never know what amazing vistas you’ll find! Photo by Kathryn Dyer. Posted on Tumblr by the US Department of the Interior, 9/25/16.
Mist rises from Ahwahnee Meadow on a cold winter morning in Yosemite National Park, creating a dreamy blue scene. While Half Dome wears a light dusting of snow, other areas of the park received more than 200 inches – or almost 17 feet – so far this winter! There’s still time to enjoy snow-dusted views and winter activities before warm weather arrives. Photo courtesy of Douglas Croft. Posted on Tumblr by the US Department of the Interior, 2/11/16.

Joseph Taylor captured this stunner of the endless Milky Way galaxy floating above the granite monoliths — Washington Column and Half Dome — in Yosemite National Park’s Stoneman Meadow. “To be a part of a beautiful moment on Earth like this one is always breathtaking, but to capture it with my camera was incredible,”says Joseph.
