A Beautiful Pastel Burning   Leave a comment

Photographer Erik Fremsted loves capturing sunrise at Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge near Minneapolis. “The fog begins to burn and glow while the clouds dance in the sky. I breathe in the scene for as long as possible while the unofficial state bird, the mosquito, eats me alive. A price I am very willing to pay to witness mornings like this.” Photo by Erik Fremsted. Oaken Sunrise   Leave a comment

A brilliant summer sun rises over Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, shining golden light through the limbs of an old burl oak and burning away the morning fog. The refuge runs for almost 70 miles along the Minnesota River, providing visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy wildlife observation and recreation in the shadows of skyscrapers, grain elevators and towering trees. Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge   Leave a comment

Running along the Minnesota River, Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge is a natural escape from the nearby Twin Cities. The refuge provides valuable habitat for a diversity of waterfowl and other migratory birds, fish and resident wildlife. Sometimes it’s so beautiful, even the deer have to stop and admire the scenery. Photo by Erik Fremstad. Posted on Tumblr by the US Department of the Interior, 5/3/16.
