Majestic mountain views, fall colors and epic wildlife are some of the many delights of visiting Denali National Park. Of this caribou strolling through the Alaskan tundra, photographer Nick Harrison says, “He walked so soft and steady as if he was also taking in the beauty all around him. He was so calm – nothing disturbed him.” Photo by Nick Harrison. Posted on Tumblr by the US Department of the Interior, 10/14/16.

Fall Is Orange Leave a comment

Fall foliage lights up the lakeshore at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. Along with changing leaves, late season sunflowers provide a colorful contrast to red-wing blackbirds that swoop and dart through grasses. The refuge protects a wide stretch of the Rio Grande river where sandhill cranes, geese and other waterfowl spend the winter each year. Photo by Robert Dunn. Alaskan Color Leave a comment

It’s that time of year in Alaska when the gorgeous fall colors come out at Serpentine Hot Springs in Bering Land Bridge National Preserve. Gone are the shockingly bright pinks, yellows and purples of summer, replaced by deeper and darker reds, yellows, greens and the beginnings of brown, all of equal vibrancy and beauty. Enjoy the change of seasons wherever you may be! Photo by Katie Cullen, National Park Service. Posted on Tumblr by the US Department of the Interior, 9/17/16.
The Road To Color Leave a comment

Wherever your travels take you this fall, I hope the change of season will take you on a road like this one to experience fall colors. This gorgeous picture was taken at Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area. The park buffers the Cumberland River as it runs across the Kentucky-Tennessee border, boasting miles of scenic views and lovely wooded trails. Photo by National Park Service.
