Sunset sets the sky ablaze at Waubay National Wildlife Refuge in South Dakota. The refuge is located in the prairie pothole region, one of the largest and most important breeding areas for ducks and migratory birds in North America. Artist George Catlin described the area as a “blue and boundless ocean of prairie.” It also has abundant lakes, marshes and woodlands. Posted on Tumblr by the US Department of the Interior, 3/13/15.
